Over the course of the project, and in the spirit of an authentic community-based research model which strives to offer opportunities for learning to both community leaders and students, our research table was graced with so many amazing, talented, experienced people!
We were honoured to work with so many incredible people. Our Community Members were involved in shaping the project, learning how to run a CBR project from the ground up, conducting research, interviewing participants, analyzing results, presenting findings and shaping this Digital Hub. We also had community members help us with translation of some materials to increase accessibility.
The Community Worker Program (George Brown Polytechnic) never disappoints in the exceptional calibre of students committed to social justice principles and grassroots community work. Year after year we found consistent, committed, talented folks who helped move the project forward from sitting at the research table shaping the project in the first year to learning all aspects of getting a CBR project off the ground – in a good way – to helping with transcription, lit reviews, translations, and website content development. We were truly blessed to have then join the Digital Hub.
From the beginning we were privileged to have Indigenous Curriculum Specialists participate in the project, helping us reflect deeper on the resources we create and how. At critical moments other specialists came in to help lead critical aspects of the project including data analysis, website development and website content.
